About Kent Craig

Kent has been involved in the Vancouver commercial real estate market since 1989 and he has focused on providing commercial real estate consulting to private and public sector tenants in Metro Vancouver, including TU Group, WorkSafeBC and Transpacific Realty Advisors.

Prior to joining Macdonald Realty Westmar in 2000, Kent was with Canada’s largest commercial real estate firm for over ten years. During this time, he represented the landlords of professional buildings in Metro Vancouver, including CP Pension Funds, Beutel Goodman, and CN Real Estate. Due to this experience, he understands a landlord’s motivation beyond rental rates.

Landlords complete lease transactions on a regular basis, so representing landlords primarily involves marketing and gathering information on prospective tenants. In contrast, tenant representation involves consulting throughout the leasing process. Kent enjoys understanding how different businesses and organizations operate and developing strategies based on each tenant's unique circumstances.

Being with a commercial real estate firm interfered with representing tenants: there was pressure to market certain buildings to clients and an expectation to disclose a client’s identity within the firm. To represent tenants more effectively, Kent joined Macdonald Realty Westmar.

Kent completed a diploma in Urban Land Economics at UBC in 1988 and since then has been a member of both the British Columbia Real Estate Association and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. He also has a background in real estate appraisal.
